Position Description - Coach, Senior Netball
Senior Teams: A Grade, A Reserve, B Grade, B Reserve and Under 17 Netball
Role Description:
The role includes, but not exclusively, the following elements:
- Assume overall responsibility for your team and provide leadership and mentoring, for the on and off court performance, including coaching and management of individual players
- Assist Director of Coaching in the selection and recruitment processes of players for the South BendigoFNC - netball teams including identifying prospective and potential talent for future inclusion
- Attend and assist Director of Coaching and Senior Netball Operations Manager at all South BendigoFNC netball selection trials, pre-season and training sessions
- Represent SBFNC at club events, training teas, post-match awards and functions as required
- Build positive and productive relationships with all other netball coaching staff and liaise with the SBFNC executive in relation to strategy, plans and requirements of the South Bendigo FNC – senior netball division
- Maintain a high personal standard in presentation and demeanour when representing SBFNC at all times, including wearing club apparel
- Foster relationships between netball and football, and support one another where possible
- Foster relationships between Junior and Senior netball teams, to develop pathways for players and coaches.
- Lead by example and set expectations to players to attend trainings, training dinners, club functions and post-game dinners throughout the season
- Develop a professional liaison and relationship with the SBFNC Netball Operations Manager and executive team.
Reporting
- Attend regular face to face meetings with Director of Coaching, Senior Netball Operations Manager or Executive committee members of South Bendigo Football Netball Club Inc as requested
- All South Bendigo coaches report directly to the Director of Coaching
- Ultimate responsibility for all South Bendigo Netball Coaches, goes to the South Bendigo Football Netball Club Inc. President.
Position Description - Director of Coaching / Senior Netball
Objectives:
To coordinate, support, educate, and evaluate Senior Club coaches at training and on match day.
Role Description:
The role includes, but not exclusively, the following elements:
- Assume overall responsibility and provide leadership and mentoring, of all South Bendigo FNC netball coaches, fostering a positive culture
- Assume overall responsibility for your team and provide leadership and mentoring, for the on and off court performance, including coaching and management of individual players
- Lead selection and recruitment processes of players for the SBFNC netball teams including identifying prospective and potential talent for future inclusion
- Plan, attend and assist all South Bendigo FNC netball selection trials, pre-season and training sessions with theassistance of the Senior Netball Operations Manager and other coaching staff
- As requested, compile and provide reports for coaching and committee meetings
- Represent SBFNC at club events, functions training teas, post-match awards, coaching seminars and promotional functions as required, including TV and radio interviews as required
- Build positive and productive relationships with all other netball coaching staff and liaise with the SBFNC executive in relation to strategy, professional development, plans and requirements of the senior netball division
- Maintain a high personal standard in presentation and demeanour in representing SBFNC at all times
- Develop a professional liaison in conjunction with the SBFNC Senior Netball Operations Manager and executive, to foster relationships between junior and senior netball divisions, with the focus of enhancing the current relationship between our junior and senior netballers
- Foster relationships between netball and football, and to encourage players to attend Club functions and volunteer their time when required.
- Foster relationships between Junior and Senior netball teams, to develop pathways for players and coaches.
- Assist Club and Senior Netball Ops Manager to develop processes for successful recruitment, development and retention of coaches and players
Additional Roles:
- Act as club mentor to coaches as required
- Form part of the selection panel in conjunction with Netball Operations Manager, for appointment of Club coaches
- Conduct coaching assessments, interviews and evaluations of club coaches
- Ensure all coaches uphold the Netball Aust. Coaches Code of Conduct including Child Safe Policies
- Chair Club coaches’ meetings
- Attend compulsory club functions, training teas and weekly post-match awards.
Reporting:
- Attend regular face to face meetings with the Netball Operations Manager or Executive committee members of South Bendigo Football Netball Club Inc as requested.
- The Director of Coaching reports directly to the South Bendigo Football Netball Club President and Senior Netball Operations Manager.
- Ultimate responsibility for the Director of Coaching and A grade coach, goes to the South Bendigo Football Netball Club Inc. President.
