Welcome to SBJNC!
The South Bendigo Junior Netball Club are excited to be planning another huge season of netball in 2025! We are proud to be one of the biggest Junior Netball Clubs in the Greater Bendigo region, with close to 20 teams projected to again take the court at the Central Victorian Netball Association (CVNA) in 2025.
South Bendigo is an all-inclusive club. All players that register with South Bendigo will be placed into a team if we can source coaches for each of our teams, we do not exceed our court space for training and we don’t have more teams than the competition will allow.
The CVNA Winter Competition comprises of primary, 13&Under and open teams.
Primary Section – includes Grade 3, Grade 4 and Grade 5 and players need to register in the grade they are attending at school. This section is non-competitive. South Bendigo keeps primary grade teams together as much as possible (ie. if you played in G3 Walker in 2024 you will play in G4 Walker in 2025). This section typically plays on Saturdays.
13 & Under Section - is for those players coming out of the non-competitive primary sections (ie. you will likely be in Grade 6 or Year 7 in 2025, and must not turn 14 during 2025). This section typically plays on Saturday mornings.
Open Section – is for older players up to 18&Under (ie. You must not turn 19 during 2025). Open teams play in Section 4 through to Section 1. Section 1 is the highest level of netball in the CVNA competition. These sections typically play on Friday nights.
For our Competitive 13&U and Open teams, we then ask each player to identify which type of team they would like to participate in:
Development Team - This is the highest level of netball at SBJNC, featuring one team in the 13&U Section and two teams in the Open Section of the CVNA, for athletes passionate about pursuing a pathway to League and/or Rep teams. Trials/selections required for these teams, noting unsuccessful players will be offered placement in an Advancement Team.
Advancement Team - Competing in the 13&U or Open Section of the CVNA, teams are grouped based on players selecting that they are serious about playing netball and seek to be challenged.
Social Team - Competing in the 13&U or Open Section of the CVNA, teams are grouped based on players selecting that they wish to play socially.
